Gemini Directory
This is the source for the Random Road Gemini directory, which is hosted
at:
gemini://directory.randomroad.net
Contributions are welcomed by email to dctrud@randomroad.net, whether a
simple email with some links, or a git patch. Please try to propose a
category, and a 1 sentence summary of each suggested link.
I aim to periodically review new sites known to GUS etc. and check for
broken links to keep the directory reasonably up to date, and growing.
The directory is purposefully a manually edited collection of pages,
rather than a database or scripted site. Please refrain from proposing
helper scripts, CGIs etc. However, note that the content is CC0 licensed,
so you can use it as the basis for creating your own directory with as
much funky tech as you see fit :-)

# RETIRED - 2020-02-06
I've decided to retire the directory today. The excellent
<gemini://medusae.space> directory by Mjollna & Laërte is growing at quite a
pace, and will easily outpace my efforts. Their DB backed approach also has some
advantages for nesting, multi-category links, language info that will be nice as
the Gemini space grows.
At the moment the Gemini space is quite small, and directories can be fairly
complete, so I'd prefer not to maintain something that will have a very large overlap.
I'll leave <gemini://directory.randomroad.net> up for 3 months, until the end of
April. The source repo will stay beyond that, in case it warrants revisiting in
future.
This has been a short but fun project. Found a lot of interesting things to
read over the last couple of months.
Cheers!

Welcome! This is a manually curated directory of Gemini capsules, arranged by broad categories. It was inspired by the CommunityWiki 'Trunk' for Mastodon accounts.
I will periodically update the listings by checking the latest sites known to GUS. You can also email links to sites for inclusion to me, dctrud@randomroad.net is best. See also the git repo details at the bottom of the page. Patches are welcome!

I've decided to retire the directory today. The excellent new medusae.space directory by Mjollna & Laërte is growing at quite a pace, and will easily outpace my efforts. 2020-01-17: Added some contributed links and rectified some notable ommissions of interesting places I browse.

At the moment, the Gemini space is quite small, and directories can be quite complete, so I'd prefer not to maintain something that will have a very large overlap with a superior solution.
I'll leave gemini://directory.randomroad.net up for 3 months, until the end of April. The source repo will stay beyond that, in case it warrants revisiting in future. This has been a short but fun project. Found a lot of interesting things to read over the last couple of months.
